Annual Awards


The North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce (NBCC) honored its annual award winners during an annual banquet on June 18 at the Leland Cultural Arts Center. The banquet was sponsored by Leland VFW Post 12196.


“Our Chamber is full of amazing people, businesses, and non-profits, and they make northern Brunswick County a better place,” said Jeremy Gunn, outgoing NBCC Board President. “Each of this year’s award winners and finalists was extremely deserving of the recognition they received.”Awards were presented in seven different categories based on the organization’s or individual’s outstanding performance and contribution to the Chamber and community.

The following members received awards:

  • Business of the Year: Mimi and Papa’s Gourmet Popcorn and Sweet Shop

  • Non-Profit of the Year: Leland VFW Post 12196

  • New Chamber Member Business of the Year: What the Grill

  • Woman of the Year: Billie Gunn, JBG Services

  • Entrepreneur of the Year: Brandon Hill, Gimmzi Smart Rewards

  • Young Professional of the Year: Julia Arnold, Coastal Painting and Improvements


Additionally, NBCC Executive Director Dana Fisher was presented with the Dedicated Service Award in honor of her 15 years of service to the organization.


New Board


Also at its Annual Meeting, the North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce recognized its incoming and outgoing board members.


“I’m proud to welcome our new board members and deeply grateful to those whose service is coming to a close,” said Shari Leone, 2025-26 NBCC Board President. “Their leadership and commitment are what drive the Chamber’s continued growth and impact in northern Brunswick County.”The following members joined the board:

  • Heather Evans, Salt Air, Inc.

  • Victor Fernandes, Fernandes Fit

  • Mary Klein, Green Compass

  • Tom Powers, Powers Administrative Services

  • Danita Mitchell, D.R. Horton - New Home Specialist

The following members will continue their board service:

  • Shari Leone, Corning Federal Credit Union

  • Brandon Hill, Gimmzi Smart Rewards

  • Steve Hulon, Brunswick Community College

  • Dr. Paul Hrvol, Coastal Integrative Health

  • Christina Atti-Uptegrow, Brunswick Cove Living Center

  • Karl Elken, Sales Geek of the Carolinas

  • Shelby Lloyd, Novant Health

  • Brittany Reinert, Monarch Roofing

  • Nate Moore, Cavik Insurance

  • Jeremy Gunn, JBG Services (ex - officio)

The following members will depart from the board:

  • Susan Cruse, First Bank

  • Martha Jackson, South State Bank

  • Wilson Hudspeth, Duke Energy


The North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce (NBCC) supports and promotes the business community in northern Brunswick County, NC. Its membership includes businesses currently located in northern Brunswick County, businesses who are seeking to grow or establish a footprint here, non-profit organizations, governmental bodies, and individuals who wish to support our local business community.
