Youth In The Arts
The Leland Cultural Arts Center hosts a new art exhibition each month, showcasing visual artists, master crafters and expert creatives. During the month of March is something just a little different and pretty special. Local children from Brunswick County schools have all been working hard in art class to create something for display and to be judged. The center will be full of student art work in March. And on March 28 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm celebrate the 6th annual Youth Art Day, where all the art winners will be announced.
Youth’s Art Day
The entire family will enjoy the day of festivities planned. There will be a variety of kid and family activities, games and plenty of fun for all. Hands-on arts and crafts include projects that include a mix of materials and themes and can be taken home with participants that day.
Through- out the morning, two amazing local acts will make an appearance on the LCAC Main Stage. Mr. Scooter will entertain with his hip-hop storytelling style at 10 a.m. Later in the morning, at 11:45 a.m., the US International Ballet will present a special performance of “Leaps and Beats.” Watch these international dancers soar across the stage to modern music.
This show will celebrate the creativity and talents of youth in Brunswick County. A jury of local art professionals will judge the gallery show and winners will be recognized at 11:30 a.m. The Youth Art Month exhibit will be on display March 2 – 28, 2020.
This event is free and is sponsored by Leland Cultural Arts Center. The Center has a vibrant, thriving art community, highly trained teachers and offers an abundance of artistic opportunities to the local community - any age and any skill level.
